17th June 2008

This year we are heading up to Toukley again.  The event will be held over the days of 14-15th of June.  Please book your accommodation now at the caravan park.  See here for details.

17th June 2006 held the weekend 16-18th of June

Another fantastic weekend for the Icelandic community and members of the IAA.  The Saturday was fun filled for adults and kids alike.  Around 40 Icelanders and Australians came to have a good time and celebrate the Icelandic independence day. See pictures.

 

 

AGM 2004

The annual AGM was held on the Sunday, 21st of March at 3pm.  The meeting commenced at 3pm, however at that time there were insufficient numbers of members for a quorum.  The meeting w18tas then postponed for 30 minutes.  At the commencement of the meeting we had 6 members.  The meeting was declared legal and Simmi Valgeirsson was nominated as the chairperson for the meeting due to the absence of the chairman.  The reports of the chairman, secretary and treasury were delivered and then the meeting proceeded to elect a new committee.  The new committee was elected as follows:

Chairman: Simmi Valgeirsson
Vice chairman: Wendy Taylor
Treasurar: Smári Friđriksson
Secratary: Sibba Gudlaugsdottir
Committee member: Wendy Fridriksson

This year, we went back to the Canton Beach Tourist Park on the Central Coast.  In attendance were Icelanders and Australians affiliated with them. Read about the event.

The meeting was held and the previous committee was elected.

Sunday 7th April 2002

The annual AGM was held on the Sunday 7th of April.  This was the second attempt due to the first meeting not having a minimum quorum of 10 members.  This time around 6 members attended and the meeting was declared legal.  The agenda was as follows:

1. Chairmans report
2. Treasury report
3. Secratary report
4. Election of new committee
5. Election of auditor
6. Other matters

The new committee was elected as follows:

Chairman: Konnráđ Pálmason
Vice chairman: Jóhannes Sigurđsson
Treasurar: Smári Friđriksson
Secratary: Simmi Valgeirsson
Committee member: Wendy Taylor

Auditor: Lillý Sigđursson

 

Monday 18th June 2001

The IAA 17th of June celebration have just finished.  See here for an overview and pictures.

Wednesday 6th June 2001

 The annual Sydney Film Festival will be on 8 - 22 of June. An Icelandic film will be shown called "101 Reykjavik". The film will screen on the 19th of June.  See the web page of the Sydney Film Festival for further information and details.

Sunday 25th March 2001

 The annual IAA has now been held.  A new committee was elected and will be continuing the work from last year.  You can see who are the members of the 2001 committee in the contacts page.
